need lots of info and sources.thx.
Well did you break the tables?
I am having a couple over for dinner soon and need some advice. We have a small house with only a bar, no dining room table. As this is the case, I am serving a more casual meal. I am serving a delicious Taco Soup (which is always a hit) with a salad and tortillas for dipping and cheese, sour cream, etc. In this case, how would I do place settings? Since it’s a bar and casual, I know I do not want anything formal, but I would still like it to be nice. And what should I use for the tortilla chips(at their place setting)? A small bread plate maybe? Also, any other tips(desserts, etc) for making this a nice affair would be appreciated!
No expert, but I can suggest a few things.
Your Mexican dinner party is casual, no two ways about it, so EMBRACE casual. Put your soup in a big, pretty terrine with a decorative ladle. As for the chips, any sort of ramekin or custard cup. If you want to go all Sandra Lee, head to the craft store and pick up some cheap little flower pots. I’m certain you can find something with a SW theme.
As for desert? Something cooling! Serve berries in cantaloupe halves with some sparkling wine poured over and a nice dollop of whipped cream on top. Or just individual bowls of ice cream you can pre-scoop and leave in freezer until you’re ready for them. Dress the ice cream up with some warm, cinnamoned caramel sauce. Hope this helps.
this is a question that has been plagueing me.say there was an anorectic on come dine with me. how would she/he cope?
well they wouldnt go on the show in the first place u dumb ass!
what a retard u are! hopefully one day you’ll be as ill as them and know how it feels to be laughed at!
you really are a loser!
…or can we just walk in and find seats? Do hotels in Nairobi provide shuttles to and from the Carnivore?
Who cares about the cost. You have to go. That restaurant is AMAZING!!! When I lived in Kenya we didn’t have to make reservations but it might help if you do. I just checked a site that said it was $65 US to eat there. That’s flat price with a soup/salad, drink, tons of meat, coffee, and desert. I’d bring extra money just in case though.
Enjoy!
I’d keep it simple but use the best ingredients, all bought locally, organic, etc.
Tomato soup with croutons to start.
Then spag bol with side salad.
Chocolate fudge cake with cream for dessert.
Yum!
lol I love Come Dine With Me!

Main: Lamb Shank with Mash, peas and mint gravy
Desert: Key Lime Pie and Cream
A husband and wife were having a fine dining experience at their exclusive country club when this stunning young woman comes over to their table, gives the husband a big kiss, says she’ll see him later and walks away.
His wife glares at him and says, "Who was that?!"
"Oh," replies the husband, "she’s my mistress."
"Well that’s the last straw," says the wife.
"I’ve had enough, I want a divorce. I am going to hire the most aggressive, meanest divorce lawyer I can find and make your life miserable."
"I can understand that," replies her husband, "but remember, if we get a divorce it will mean no more wintering in Key West, or the Caribbean, no more summers in Tuscany, no more Cadillac STS in the garage, and no more country club, and we’ll have to sell the 26-room house and move to two smaller homes, but the decision is yours."
Just then, a mutual friend enters the restaurant with a gorgeous young woman on his arm.
"Who’s that with Jim?" asks the wife.
"That’s his mistress," says her husband.
She replies, "Ours is prettier."
lol
You are a software developer for Bubba Jim Home Builders, Inc.. BJHB, Inc. specializes in affordable housing built to order on customer-owned lots. The sales department has asked for a program to assist the client counselors provide the customers a cost estimate for their desired new home. Your supervisor has assigned you to develop a program to calculate the price for constructing the home the customer wants built. In your discussion with the sales manager, you learned the following about the price structure of BJHB homes:
BJHB builds several styles of house. Each style has a base cost which covers the common living areas, kitchen, dining area, etc. Additional costs must be added per bedroom, home office, garage, and bathroom. The styles and costs are:
Ranch$38487.00
A Frame$29975.00
Two Story$43543.00
Colonial$55675.00
cost per bedroom $7500.00
cost per bathroom$3500.00
Cost per home office$5500.00
cost for garage $10000.00
The sales person will enter the information based on his or her conversation with the client. The first inputs for each new customer will be the customer’s name and the address of the customer’s lot. The program should continue to calculate customer data until the sales person enters a zero for the customer’s name The sales person will be prompted for the customer name, customer address, the number of bedrooms, number of baths, number of home offices, and if a garage is desired. The program will then calculate the price and display the results to the screen.
Once you have designed your program, implement the program in C#. Use the following data to validate your program:
Customer Name: Susan Anthony
Customer Address: 455 Freedom Lane
Style: Colonial
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 3
Offices: 1
Garage: Y
You should have paid more attention in class, if something that simple is giving you problems…
I could almost eat the whole of it in just 3-5 bites.
In fine dining restaurants, dinners often consist of many courses made of the finest ingredients. Because those ingredients are the best, the portion that is served to you is equal to the cost of the dish (or dishes if there are many courses).
