Is it hard for a vegan to dine in Belize? Does anyone know of any good dishes to try there?

Posted on November 2nd, 2009 by admin

I’m skipping off to Belize tomorrow for a few days and am trying to figure out what kind of food to pack. If anyone has been to Belize and knows any vegan suggestions that would be great. My buddies that are going with aren’t vegetarian so I don’t want to go without being prepared. Thanks mates!

Well I actually went there for several weeks before I was fully vegan…and let’s just say the good thing is that you can buy some dried and canned goods at the markets. Most restaurants are really into the meat/fish thing and for some reason they really like their cole slaw??? I survived off ordering potatoes and buying granola (muesli really) at the stores…you can try and find places that offer kitchens so you can start cooking things instead of being totally saddened at most restaurants.

If you were on Come Dine With Me (UK) what would you pick to be your three course meal?

Posted on October 26th, 2009 by admin

I’d keep it simple but use the best ingredients, all bought locally, organic, etc.

Tomato soup with croutons to start.
Then spag bol with side salad.
Chocolate fudge cake with cream for dessert.

Yum!

lol I love Come Dine With Me!

Starter: Giant Mushroom with chopped tomatoes and melted stilton.

Main: Lamb Shank with Mash, peas and mint gravy

Desert: Key Lime Pie and Cream

How can I dine out with my whole Sims family?

Posted on October 24th, 2009 by admin

In The Sims 2, I want to dine out my family. (Dad, Mom, Teen, and Child)…how can I make them dine altogether?

While you are controlling one of them (I usually pick the Dad or the Mom) have that sim ask the other sims to join a group "Just for Fun" then you won’t have to worry about that time meter and they will be in a group. Once they are in a group, they do everything together, including eating together.

To break the group back up just have the one who started the group break it up. You’ll see the option if you click on Groups again.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get customers to dine in our shop?

Posted on October 20th, 2009 by admin

I recently opened my own business. I sell desserts and espresso. We have a lot of business outside of the business. We cater weddings and events and we serve our cakes to restaurants and hotels. So that part of business is good. But I really would like to push customers to eat or drink inside the shop. Any cost effective ideas or any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Offer frequent customer discounts like a little punch card or something. Get some spiffy, modern looking comfy furniture from Target and cute tables. Something that looks good but has the "more is less" appeal so you can stay cost-effective. Also, get Wifi.. you’ll get all the business type in there and they’ll stay forever with their laptops. Or newspapers, especially Wall Street Journal.
