What’s a good fine dining restaurant in downtown Detroit on a Saturday night?

My boyfriend and I will be spending our three month anniversary in downtown Detroit on Saturday night. We’re looking for a nice fine dining restaurant (or any restaurant that is not casual dining) to dine at. We’re both traveling on the cheaper end. Any recommendations? Also, any recommendations for a fun spot for saturday night that is gay friendly?
Something that has a blind tasting menu with 5 courses or three courses would be preferred! with nice view and romantic.
Saltwater at the MGM Grand casino is a spectacular Michael Mina restaurant.

Highly recommend Motor City Casino’s Buffet….$24.00 per person, all you can eat Prime Rib, Turkey, Chicken, Seafood, Italian, Oriental, Soup, Salad, Fruit & Dessert. Trust me….you won’t be sorry!

The cheaper end of a five course meal? Cheaper and "fine dining" at the same time – Not sure if it exists.
Opus One is wonderful – Very old school glamorous
Roast at the Book Cadillac – Chef is Michael Symon (Iron Chef)
Coach Insignia is on the top of the Ren Cen – can’t beat that view
Don’t know about the gay friendly aspect – but I gotta hope you’ll be welcomed with open arms.

It is a bit of a drive from Downtown (10-15 minute cab ride), but try La Dolce Vita. It is on Woodward Ave near 6 Mile road. Great food (outside seating if weather permits) and is very gay friendly.
I would call for reservations on a Saturday.
