When you dine out at restaurants… are you a good tipper?
Posted on November 17th, 2009 by admin
Yes, no (you don’t tip), or you always tip the same amount?
Does it matter if your waitress / waiter is attractive or is it the service?
I tip 20 percent if the service is good. If the service is not good, it goes down from there. It doesn’t matter what the server looks like. It’s definitely the service. The better the service, the better the tip. Also, it doesn’t impress me when people take orders and don’t write them down. Most of the time, something is always forgotten. If the order is not right, the tip goes down also.
But I will say this. My husband and I have gone out to several different places and the waitress does nothing but flirt with him and ignore me. The tip left is usually a penny. And they need to quit calling people hon and honey. I don’t mind when my husband calls me that, but I don’t want to hear it from another female. And don’t hang around our table chit chatting. That’s not part of their job.
But I do not believe in tipping at a buffet. for someone putting a glass of water on my table and some plates. That’s part of their job.

Yes I tip very good when we go out, I use to waitress and I know that is how they make their money. $2.13 an hr doesn’t pay the bills!

Looks of waiter/waitress has no influence. I tip and usually stay with the tip scale.

service is key, i’ve been known to leave $25 or a penny, the latter is not a tip but a hint

It all depends on the service.

Always tip, amount depends on the food , quality of service, yes I think it helps to be attractive/presentable. But, if it’s a bad service/food then no tip.

I alway leave a good tip…
I’m in theater… I always have SOMETHING to do with EVERY show at the local comminuty theater, whether it’s acting, tech crew, or just ushering…. and a lot of times, after the show, the whole cast and the tech crew will go out to eat, and the waiters get REALLY jerky and mad because it’s so confusing, with how we fill half the room, and put together 10 tables… BUT I always leave an EXTRA tip for the jerky waiter…. Kill them with kindness….

Service is the only thing that matters for a tip in my opinion. If the service warrants a good tip, that’s what they get.

20%, unless the service is really bad (waitresses line dance rather than wait tables, at that point it becomes no tip).

I am not a good tipper unless if the person serving me really impresses me with his / her hospitality.
