Unconscious Factors

Posted on April 13th, 2010 by admin

Unconscious factors are not clearly weighted by Erikson. A case was laid more for outside influences affecting stage progression; however, these factors do play a role. The idea of the conscience serving as the, “inner voice of self-observation, self-guidance, and self punishment.” Though obviously important, it is my belief that not enough attention was devoted to this factor and subsequently Erikson by his limited explanation identified that he outlined a limited role of importance for the unconscious factors. As you can see, each person has their own view of the world. I am interested to know what your view is of this post.
