Buy flax seed: how to choose.

With so many forms of flax seed you can buy from your local health food shop, it can be difficult to decide which one to plump for. It might be helpful to give you some pros and cons. Flax seed in its whole form is great because it is cheaper to buy in bulk and the hard shell protects its contents and so whole flax seed has a long long shelf life. The doan side with whole flax seed is that you cannot eat it in that form as you cannot digest it, you need to grind it down into a rough flax seed meal to release all the nutrients inside.
