One of the main benefits of eating the nutty flavoured little seed is that it provides a great source of insoluble fibre. What this got to do with drinking more water you ask? Well, you see it is this fibre that absorbs water from the bowel and then swells up/bulks up and helps your digestive system to move its contents along its length. If you do not have enough water then you could find that it causes a bowel blockage.
Don’t forget that your flax seed meal doesn’t have the longest of shelf lives and so use you supply reasonably quickly and keep it in a cool dark airtight place when storing.
