Dream Interpretation? Swimming with hands behind back, Seeing two of the same person?

In real life, due to pest control me and my BF, (I’ll call him Jim) and I haven’t been able to visit each others houses for weeks. In my dream however, I sneaked him inside when my mom went out for the night. He stayed at my house all night and we did couple stuff, and I realized that he didn’t have any shoes with him. In the morning, (still in my dream) I received a prize package that I had won from a sweepstakes I am playing in real life, but the prize was cheap and not what I was hoping for.
After that (here’s where the dream made me feel uneasy), I went to my kitchen and filled up four bowls of water from my cupboard, they were all mismatched bowls. I set the four water-filled bowls on my bed and went to go hang out in the kitchen with Jim. I sat on the floor, he had his head in my lap and we were talking, when there came a knock at the door. Jim said something like "I better go hide, its probably your mom."
I go to open the door, and standing there… is another Jim. I was shocked, a little bit scared, and stunned speechless. This Jim wasn’t wearing any clothes, only blue boxers. He was holding a pair of my BF’s shoes. He handed them to me and said "You had better take these." There was a sadness in his voice like no other, and his face was grim, I felt love for him just as much as I loved the Jim in my apartment. He turned and left, and I closed the door. I went in to the dining room to find the Jim I had stayed with all night, waiting for me at the table. I handed him the shoes and I said "These are for you" I stood there silently trying to make sense of things, and as Jim put his shoes on, he was looking at me like he knew who was at the door. I was confused as to who was the real Jim, and had the strong feeling that one of them would have to die, and felt a heavy sense of dread when I thought about what would happen to the Jim at the door.
Last night, I dreamed about swimming. It looked like a swimming pool above the surface, but underneath it was definitely deep blue ocean. I swim underwater using the dolphin kick, but for some reason I also clasped my hands behind my back in my dream. I swam powerfully, effortlessly and fast, like a real live water creature. It was exhilarating. I broke the surface and leaped about 4 feet into the air. There were others around me, students from my school. Once I went too deep and badly needed air. So I tried to unclasp my hands to help me swim to the surface, but they were stuck together, like my fingers were clasped too tightly to come undone. I panicked and fought to reach the surface. I finally made it, my hands still trapped. I broke the surface, leaped high and sucked in air. Then I fell back under. Now panicked and exhausted I struggled to get to the shore, which looked like the wall of a pool, only 60 feet deep. I made it, only 2 feet from a life guard. I clamped my teeth onto the the edge of the pool wall to prevent the current from taking me away again. Extremely dizzy from lack of oxygen, I tried getting my hands above water to show the lifeguard I badly needed help and the lifeguard simply said "Oh, that happens all the time, here let me help" She pulled me out of the water and I found myself clinging to a wall, standing on a ledge about 2 inches deep and 30 feet high, my hands were unclasped. The students had gathered far out into the ocean and were waiting for me to join them, but I felt terrified of the height. I eventually jumped and joined them, where some swimming competition was about to begin, from there the dreamed turned to something else.
I noticed the symbol of water in my dreams, among many other things. What can they mean?
Thank you vetech_61 for the spiritual advice. I am nurturing my faith again after a long time of avoidance.
Thank you Cycle Man. A lot of your explanation applies to my life. He is a very responsible person, the careers we are starting pay very differently. The fear is in myself for potentially not being able to keep up with the goals he wants to achieve for us.
The more I think about it, I think that the Jim in my apartment is the more mature one, and that the one at the door is the younger Jim that I met, who is transferring himself over to the new Jim, the last transfer being the shoes, whatever they may symbolize. When Jim turned and left, he was fading into the past. Though when I felt that "one of them would have to die" I meant that one would have to kill the other. From this I feel that over the next year, he will experience some inner conflict. Perhaps this dream has to do with the changes for the better that I have seen in Jim.
You gave many good details, so bear with me as I respond to as many as I can.
Your boyfriend spent the night with you, but couldn’t leave because he had no shoes. This is a strong symbol that something is lacking in him that is important to you. Is he a responsible person? Disorganized? Slovenly?
The prize you received that morning was disappointing. It symbolized what you got (or failed to get) from him spending the night with you. Possibly you wish it didn’t happen?
You put four small bowls of water on your bed. The bed obviously symbolizes your intimacy with him the night before. The bowls were mismatched, symbolizing the unfavorable differences between the two of you. You may believe that the two of you are simply not right for each other. Why water in the bowls? Honestly, I am not sure.
The "other" bf brought the first bf his shoes. The other bf is more responsible, having the shoes with him, taking care of things. Why was he sad? Because he knew you were disappointed with him not having shoes (not being the man he should be). But the second bf IS the type of bf you want. Therefore, you now believe that your real life bf MIGHT be maturing, and may be good for you after all.
You had a sense that "one of them had to die." In other words, either the bf shapes up and becomes more mature, or the relationship has to end.

You should say this prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask You in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I want to serve You always." Amen
