The prime reason why weather forecasting is important is because if we can know of the harsh weather condition ahead of it actually taking place we can keep ourselves and our property from damage. Apart from such harsh weather conditions that need to be forecasted, the forecast of temperature and precipitation are also important for fields such as agriculture which in turn will help commodity markets. Temperature forecasts are used by utility companies to predict demand in the future. But even on a day to day basis, people everywhere use weather forecasts to decide what they can and cannot wear on a particular day.
