“A man`s gotta use his resources, when his pockets are empty of cash, if he`s failed at all legal recourses, it`s time to play dine and dash. So bring me some more mashed potatoes and a T-bone steak from the grill, my face doesn`t show that I have no intention of paying my bill”.

Joe says,
We’re a roots band. I guess what people are calling “Americana” fits, ‘cept we’re Canadian. “Alt-country” also fits, as does “folk” and “acoustic blues”. Alec likes to call what we do “the Birth of the Blues”. Sounds about right to me, but unfortunately, some folks might think that they’re in for a night of Charlie Patton and Blind Lemon Jefferson.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that the stuff we like to write and play harkens back to a time when folks didn’t make as much of a distinction between styles as they do today.
Most folks aren’t aware that Maybelle Carter was a fairly competent bottleneck player, so if I told you we were influenced by the Carter Family, would you make the connection? Probably not.
So… Here’s some folks that have influenced us in a very major way: Hank Williams, Charlie Poole, Junior Wells, Dwight Diller, George Jones, Dock Boggs, Doc Watson, Doc Holliday, the Stanley Brothers, the Louvin Brothers, the Marx Brothers, Little Walter, Big Walter, Merle Haggard, John Lee Hooker, Hound Dog Taylor, Jimmy Rodgers, Stompin’ Tom Connors, Muddy Waters, Billy Connolly, Robert Johnson, Nancy White, Homer and Jethro, Hamish Imlach, Matt McGinn, Bill Munroe, Michael Pickett,

You get the idea.

Food – Restaurants and Dining in Aruba

Posted on August 5th, 2009 by admin

The senses are further stimulated in an evening dining out in opulent banquet rooms, on a terrace under starry skies or in hip, intimate eateries. Sample the latest wines, swirling, sniffing and sipping an Opus One before celebrating life by partaking in a multi-course meal at any one of the island’s five-star restaurants.

International cuisine runs the gamut from to French to Fusion, from Italian to Indian, from Japanese to Javanese and from Argentinean steakhouses to Caribbean-style seafood restaurants. Local cuisine carries it own distinction with the sharp taste of a local “yerbe hole” basil bringing out the best of the “catch of the day.”
